"We have been staying at the Mountain View Hotel in Killdeer, ND for years and the clean rooms, friendly staff, and great rates keep us coming back. We are in the area often for work and we stay at the Mountain View Hotel any time possible. A couple days ago we were out of briquettes to cook our dinner on the grill and it was late enough that all the local stores were closed. It wasn't a problem as the manager just gave us enough briquettes and lighter fluid to get us by until stores opened the next day. And now today we needed to check out a day early due to a change in work plans and the managers simply let us slide, not charging us for the early checkout. We will be back next week and will be staying at the Mountain View."

"I have been working in the Killdeer ND. area off and on since March 2017, I have found the Mountain View Motel more than adequate for my needs which are simple, a clean room, a great breakfast and laundry facilities. The best amenities at the Mountain View Motel by far are the onsite managers Bill and Lynnette Pomerville, along with their daughter Kayla and the rest of the staff, each time I return they have gone out of their way to insure my needs are more than met and that my stay is always a pleasant one. On average I spend 250+ days each year away from my home, until now it has always been in one of the chain motels, I must say it is refreshing to be treated as friend and family using my first name and not being just a room number. Five stars on Bill and Lynnette's warmth and friendliness alone."

"Impressed"

"This is my 2nd stay at this hotel & I was blown away with all the accommodations. I was welcomed by the smell of fresh baked cookies at check in. The staff was friendly and genuinely interested in my stay. The office, hallways, and breakfast nook are remodeled in a fresh country decor. They also offered free passes to the the aquatic center and gym next door. My room was clean and spacious with a kitchenette. I think my favorite thing was being able to purchase a late night pizza so I didn’t have to leave the hotel. The also had a great sitting area where I was able to get some work done in the morning. If my travels ever bring me back this direction, I will forward to staying here!"

"I stayed here for two weeks to start my first hitch in the oilfields of North Dakota. The facilities are nice for a small oil town but what really makes this place SPARKLE are the people. From the owner (Todd Morse, from Fargo) to the onsite managers Bill and Lynnette Pomerville and their daughter Kayla, I was made to feel like family from the first minute I set foot on the property.

The hot breakfast (sausage patties, biscuits and hearty sausage gravy) served every morning truly hits the spot for a country boy like me. Plus the 24-hour coffee pot and freshly-baked chocolate chip cookies put out every evening make guests feel like much more than just an account number in the hotel's reservation system.

The bed linens are super soft, the beds are comfortable and the bath towels are softer than those commonly found at more much expensive national chains (think Holiday, Comfort, etc.).

You can't go wrong here if you're staying in Killdeer."

"Hard working management"

"Rooms are clean, half motel is brand new.  Price is much better than Cobblestone Inn.  Management works very hard on trying to make your stay great.  This is a oil boom area and most guest are oil field workers."

Stayed July 2013, traveled on business

"Stayed for a week while working in Killdeer, ND"

"This hotel was a great stay !!  4 stars, the Frank & Maggie were outstanding and very helpful in everyway, not bragging, but i woke Maggie up at 3 am and she greeted me with a smile.  And i admit i am a scary looking guy but this team welcomed me with a cold fresh can of orange juice in the morning to go with the great bisquits and gravy w/bacon available with the hotel standard waffle and bagels.  Beds were great, room was clean.  The managers were just outstanding, two thumbs up to Frank & Maggie for providing some of that old style hospitality, not to mention Maggie was pretty easy on the eyes!!

"like the old days"

"we were greeted with a smile and a juice of our choice!  The front desk clerk Maggie asked us after we got our keys, orange-pineapple or granapple? we asked why? she said welcome to the mountain view hotel!  Breakfast is at 5 am.  hell!  I have not received that type of greeting in a long time.  Rooms were clean and heat worked just fine and dandy.  The wifi and flatscreen tv's were a big plus.  We showed up for breakfast at 4:40 and the older guy had it all set up.  The stay was worth every penny.  we will be back in Jan. 2014.
